I've made this recipe a few times. This time, I'm making it with someone who says "I like porters and stouts."  So I'm going for a little more malty flavor.  To get there, I've:

  • Replaced the regular 2-row with Maris Otter
  • Replaced 1# of the Maris Otter with 1# extra cara 60.
  • Slightly increased the Black Patent malt.
Also switching to California Common yeast, because it's delicious.
