Last spring, strawberries were 1.49/lb at Shaws, so I got 32 pounds. So far, all the fruit wine recipes I've seen have used lots and lots of table sugar, but I'm not sure why. This wine is an attempt to figure out why that is.

After 9 weeks, still very sour. Adding Wyeast 5007 Malo-Lac to soften the flavor. At bottling, it's still a bit sour. Betsy enjoyed it like this: 12 oz wine, shaken with 1 tbsp sugar and a little ice. Definitely want to drink it cold. |
