This one is my attempt at building Heady Topper from The Alchemist in Waterbury, VT. |
Notes from brew dayWay darker than Heady Topper. Even my starter is darker than that. I think it's something about my water. I'll reserve my judgement on the hops profile. ~5.75 gallons in the primary. A very robust fermentation, with a wonderful aroma. Broke my hydrometer, so we're going to guess on ABV. Spilled around 1/2# of grain, so threw in 1# extra DME. Adding DME late in the boil is AOK. Saves space in your tun if your grain bill is asking for > 13#. |
